Hello, God? Its me, Haley.

::singing voice:: aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!! oh, so nice. as if angels were singing.. wow, just kidding. Be glad you cannot hear my 'singing voice' here as I wrote my 'aahhh" Anyway..

  Hello, God? its me, Haley...

Every once in a while, when I have a little free time, I venture across the bridge to check out surrounding areas and what they have to offer.  While traveling along the highway you see your basic streets, cars everywhere, some trees and people, etc.  The roads all intersect crazily, swerve every which way sending you to this off ramp, to the on ramp, to the next highway, an over pass, and down again- I do not even try to keep up; my good 'ol GPS still guides me more often then not.

After all the busy of the up, down, in, out and all around.. (what a bunch of NUTS!).. I reach the tunnels.  Now, its your average tunnel space- tight, dimly lit, for the claustrophobic-type its a no-good-kind of space.  For others it is probably just a tunnel, driven through on a daily basis to work, home, whatever.  For me, as I begin to see the light at the end of this tunnel, I pick up speed, and I almost.. get excited?  Its strange to me, but it feels literally like a breath of fresh air once I hit the other side and see the sun and water.  Sometimes I just want to shout FREEEEEEDOM!!  Maybe it has a lot to do with the water.  Is there a connection; fresh air, water, freedom?  (Hmm, was I a pirate or prisoner in a past life? ARG!)  Well, I really don't know.. all I know is each time I come through that other end, I am hit with a new idea, or am inspired to get to the gym or go for a run.  This last trip (when I took the picture below), I started thinking about who I should contact first for school!  I mean, is this a tunnel to the bridge.. or a tunnel to God?!

I know what you may be thinking, because I thought the same- if I try to take another picture like this, it very well may turn into the tunnel to God.  I will not do that again! haha  This picture above actually is not the actual 'tunnel to God' that I am always getting my ideas or inspirations as I pass through.  The view you'd see of that would be a cool arc built over the other side of the bridge; on a typical day you can see sailboats and motorboats, people biking along the walkway path down the side of the highway.  Its a lovely piece of bridge, rather funny to think of a concrete slab as "lovely".

Now that I am writing this I wonder if its a chosen spot for some of the, we'll call them 'wonderers', of Seattle.  Then again, any 'wonderers' probably do not stay long if they are getting inspirations as I am from the tunnel to God!  Maybe they go in with the intentions to find a space to sleep and just get by for a while.. then walk through knowing they want to go and get a job or something awesome!  HA! Ahh, I love you, tunnel to God.

(side note- title brings a smile to my face w. the memories of my friend Jess E back home.  "God, are you there?  Its me, Margo!" I can hear you saying it now... though, I feel like I get the name wrong every time.. or maybe the name changes with our drink of choice the evenings this is quoted?? <3 & Miss)
